About

Name
Plains of Tekara
Other Names
Tek-ar-ah (Tak-Mi-Lah)
Type
Grassland
The region named the Plains of Tekara is a vast rolling prairie of tall grasses and low shrub-like trees. The region is home to vast roaming herds of animals whom migrate in annual cycles. Three distinct treahni tribal groups call parts of the plains home. The Anatu in the North west portion, The Tak-Mi-Lah in the central and south-west portion, and the Malys along the coast and rivers in the eastern portion.

Location

The Plains of Tekara are located in Western Anexea between the Torcastan Sea on the east, and Darlom Mountains to the west.

History

The Plains of Tekara have been the home of various nomadic peoples for millenia. It is only in more recent times that the Malys have become more sedentary in their existence and began building permanent homes in the territory which they claim. Further from the coast the Tak-Mi-Lah and Anatu have maintained their nomadic lifestyles following herds of prairie animals throughout their annual migrations. Efforts by the more established nations to the north and south of the plains to subjugate and settle these lands have continuously failed due to the territoriality and resistance of these tribal groups. Additionally the political pressure and diplomatic risks for either Aralia or Tabras to make moves into the region without angering the other keeps the plains a desirable but unattainable land. This cold war has been fought for nearly fifty years now.

Flora

Several plant species are endemic to this prairie region.

Fauna

A large number of animals dwell within the plains, either as migratory herds or in more localized ranges.
