- In 389 YG, the Ig-Itoq of Tabras, Nat-Nebe Vylan, issued a decree that in the interests of public health no Iskandean sailors were to be permitted to come ashore when in Tabrani ports. This was imposed in response to to a recent outbreak of blue fever, commonly believed to had originated aboard a merchant ship from Iskander. This caused much dissatisfaction amongst not only merchants from Iskander, but those Tabrani merchants whom traded with them. Iskandean ships got around this by either hiring shore crews composed entirely of non-Iskandeans, or by redirected their cargo to foreign ports in Krolar and Aralia. The loss of revenue, and reduction in available work lead to a general strike amongst the dock workers in several Tabrani port towns and cities. A complete work stoppage lasting three days was sufficient to cause the monarch to reconsider. The outright ban was lifted, but anyone showing active symptoms of the fever were still prohibited from disembarking from ships of Iskandean origin. The restriction was lifted the following year after an abatement of blue fever cases.
