Ca'nep grew up as a member of one of the ruling families of Aralia. He has never known real hardship, true hunger, or poverty. As such he has rather negative opinions of those less fortunate than himself. This has given him the belief that hard work and natural intelligence will reward a person with success, regardless of other factors. Born into a family of wealth and power Ca'nep naturally took up the wine trade as is common for many of his great family. He seldom travels outside of Aralia, but has extensive contacts in foreign cities, and a network of caravans and ships which carry his goods. Ca'nep is a third cousin to Linav Ronth, a currently seated member of the high council. his political connections with his cousin allow him to avoid excessive duties and taxes on his imports, turning him a tidy profit.
