- History
- Garyth was a king in one of the minor kingdoms of the former Krolaryn Empire. In 368 YG, Cashigar a cousin of King Garyth seized the crown in a sudden and bloody coup. The former king was beheaded at the foot of his throne, and Cashigar took power. For ten years he reigned over the kingdom, until one day in late autumn when the slain King Garyth returned at the head of a small loyal army, marched directly into the capitol to storm the castle. The usurper Cashigar was unable to mount a defence even against this small force due to the fear and superstition of the dead king's return. Cashigar was beheaded on the same flagstones upon which he had put Garyth to the sword. Garyth was crowned again and the rightful king ruled for another twenty years, before passing the crown to his son in 397 YG.
- Theories
- Some speculate that he had a secret twin brother who posed as him either before and was killed, or after by playing the part in his return. Others think it was the will of the goddess to restore him to life and right a great wrong. The truth is unknown, and may be stranger still.
