Location

Corinthea
Maeruc Vojastas - Gold Basket is located in central Corinthea in the foothills of the Darlom Mountains. It stands somewhat apart from the mountains proper.

History

Maeruc Vojastas - Gold Basket is named after the subterranean and surface deposits of gold found at its base and in the various streams and rivers which flow from its slopes. This and other mineral resources form an important part of the local economy. While the largest deposits accessible from the surface have been long worked over, prospecting for new mines is an ongoing activity.
Minor earthquakes occur frequently in the area and are not a reliable predictor of pending volcanic activity. These earthquakes do however present additional danger of mine collapse and an engineering challenge for those wishing to exploit the bounty of the mountain.
