About

Dedicated to the goddess Pëölüva, Homchurch has a large circular chapel with attached kitchen, dormitory buildings, and a tall narrow bell tower. It serves the spiritual needs of of the village and surrounding population.

Location

Hom, Karelëa Province, Kythus
The church itself is located near the edge of the village of Hom, on a low rise. It is surrounded by the church glebe and the graveyard where the locals bury their dead.

Services Provided

Worship Services
The church holds high and low masses on a regular basis as required by the faith.
Spiritual Counsel
The priests of the chapel provide spiritual counsel to those of the faith whom require guidance in their daily lives.
Healing
The Master of Healing is the only physician living in the local area. He makes house calls to those who cannot travel to the church itself.

Pakwekva hyPëölüva is the leader of the congregation. She is a married woman whose husband serves as the Master of Healing for the same church.

Düpana hyPëölüva is the husband of the church's leader, a priest, and a qualified physician.

Acolytes
The church is supported by and trains up to a dozen acolytes. Many of whom were born abroad and sent to Hom for training.

History

Built in 278 YG, Homchurch is one of the oldest buildings in the village, having been added to and renovated several times over the past century. It has served as the village hall before the construction of the wyna's keep.
