- The Greyfort Gate is a small two story stone tower, with a peaked wooden roof. the gate into the village stands to one side of the tower, and a short parapet walkway extends from the tower across the top of the gate.
- Six additional simple wooden watch towers are arrayed along the village's perimeter wall. These are seldom occupied, but are occasionally visited by the gate guards at random times throughout the day.

- The gate into the village of Greyfort is located adjacent to the travelled roadway through the mountains with a cleared area in front of the gate proper.
Services Provided
- Toll Collection
- Tolls are collected from travellers passing through the area and additionally for entry into the village proper. The tolls are based on a per head count, people or animals all the same.
Staff
- Toll Master
- Dwiddan serves as the villages toll taker. He is usually available during daytime hours when the villager elders are not holding a meeting, If he is absent one of the guards will fill in for his duties.
- Guards
- The village has a small militia formed from the hunters amongst its population. At any time there are three such persons are present at the Greyfort Gate, or one of the small watchtowers providing notional security for the village.
History
- The village wall and gatehouse were built in 354 YG, when upgrades to the village infrastructure were made, given its growing population and commercial potential as a waystation for travellers.
