- A savanna dwelling medium sized raptor with brilliantly hued plumage in ranges of gold, flame, and red. These birds are believed to magically produce flames, causing grass and woodland fires. Additionally they are described as being hatched spontaneously from the very coals and ashes from the fires they spread. The shelled eggs of these birds are black, with a dull red-orange crackled appearance. Fledglings have a soft ash grey downy feathers until their adult plumage reveals their true colours. It is hypothesized that they are a favoured animal of Shaelar the God of Fire

- The birds will catch bits of burning grass and branches with their talons, and fly very close to the ground trailing flames which catch more grass and dry shrubbery alight. They then hunt for small prey animals which are flushed out by the flames.
