About

Tuln, Kythus
History
Saint Edesüva the village saint of Tuln. In early oral tradition she was reported to be a shield maiden of the local clan about 63 BG. After losing her axe in battle, she fought only with her shield for another three hours, protecting the four young children of her liege-wife. Following her death in 126 BG she was enshrined in the local beliefs as a exemplar of loyalty, honour, and courage.
She is considered a protector of children, and thus invoked to help fight childhood ailments, or to watch over newborns in their early weeks. She is also invoked in advocacy against oppression and violence towards children.
