About

These undead creatures were people whom willingly gave themselves in part to Neithur's will, in exchange for a kind of immortality. Once done they cease to age as living beings; however they do lose some self-will and identity. While they may choose to do partake, they no longer require food and drink to sustain their existence. They also remain biologically capable of reproducing, and have ordinary children should they decide to procreate. The bodies of these creatures are still subject to physical damage and decay, and as such, they require upkeep and care to sustain their unlife. They can not be truly killed except by total destruction of their bodies, and many go mad after years of existence in this state.

Abilities

Combat
Children of Neithur still feel pain from injuries, accumulate fatigue, can suffer loss of consciousness from serious injury. However, they do not bleed readily, do not suffer shock, and are immune to death from injuries which would prove fatal to mortal beings.
Fear
In many cultures, most living mortals have an ingrained fear of animated corpses, because the dead should remain as such. Where such prejudice exists, Children of Neithur have the innate ability to strike terror into those who view them. Anyone viewing such an entity and aware of its undead nature may flee or be frozen in terror.
Diseased
Children of Neithur suffer continual decomposition, which manifests as slow rotting of their tissues. If untreated these injuries will further degrade over time. These and any other sustained injuries do not mend without magical or divine aid. This decay is not contagious to other beings.
