- Description
- A tall three span arched bridge built from stone. It crosses the Celvan river providing a crossing point for both foot and vehicle traffic. The bridge is only wide enough to allow a single wagon to transit at a time in either direction, and the arch of the center span is of sufficient height to allow river boats with low masts to pass beneath.
Location
- Kemp Hyläböm, Kythus
- The Övëäfum is located at the outlet from the small lake at the bottom of the twin waterfalls.
History
- Completed in 605 YG, the current bridge replaced several generations of timber constructs that had provided transit across the river. The town charges a small toll for carts and wagons crossing the bridge ostensibly to pay for its upkeep. On pleasant weather days several hopeful locals can be seen sitting along the bridge's low stone walls, trying their luck with hook and line. A variety of bass, perch, and pike, can be found in the shadow of the bridge.
