Common Names: Grey Pine
Classification: Woody, Evergreen, Tree
Description: A moderately sized coniferous evergreen tree, which grows in northern latitudes and high elevations. These trees have a distinct grey coloured bark. They grow tall and straight trunks with branches forming a flat crown at the apex. Grey pine wood is used in timber construction, and is an excellent hot burning fuel source.

Rarity: Common
Distribution: Temperate to arctic, forests, hills and mountains.
Life Cycle: Grey pines bear cones which release wind borne seeds in the heat of mid-summer. These seeds sprout and begin growing in the fall, before winter.
