About

Dates
5-7th month, 185 YG / 640 WR
A few centuries after the unification of the Quzonian tribes into a single nation with a montheistic religion, the pantheistic Empire of Waejir had enough of the heretics living to their north. This religion was spreading across all of Annexea and was decidedly a threat to the long established culture of Waejir with their gods and royal demigods.
In an efforts to remove the seat of this upstart heathen religion the Waejiran emdrejens marched north into Quzonia, across the breadth of the land between sea and moutains.

The Siege

In what is quite possibly the turning point of the war, Waejiran forces lay siege to the city of Soland. After a couple of months surrounded by Waejirans on all quarters the citizens of Soland were starving, as the siege began before the late summer harvests, and all transit of goods into the city was blockaded on the river. The Waejirans were content to collect and eat the very bounty that should have been food for the Solandese citizens.

The Martyr of Soland

Acknowledging their inevitable defeat, the citizens of Soland sent out a priest to parlay and offer surrender. The commander of the Waejiran forces was insulted that a heretic was sent to negotiate, so he had the priest lauched against the city walls via catapult. In turn, the besieged Quzonians were so enraged by this barbarism that the entire city -- men, women, and children -- mobilized and swarmed out to surprise the besiegers. They bested the superior force and Soland remains a city of Quzonia. The priest Klastyne was declared a martyr and a saint for his sacrifice which lead to victory.

Rout of the Waejiran Besiegers

The Waejirans saw this loss as a sign from their Gods that the Goddess worshipped by these Quzonians was indeed a force to be reckoned with on a divine scale. Fearful of further retribution from their own gods, the Waejirans retreated. Keeping some gains to the west, including the city of Osunt Saaipq which the Waejiran's renamed Aikadur.
