Appearance

Callo is a tall man with a harsh features, brown eyes, a bald head, and well groomed beard of silver grey hair. On stage, Callo dresses in charcoal grey robes with bright scarlet and yellow accents. Off stage he dresses like a typical middle class Aralian.

Personality

Despite his on stage persona being a showman, with a flair for brooding and speaking in a booming voice, Callo is actually a fairly reserved person. He keeps mostly to himself, and doesn't socialize much with the rest of the circus troupe, preferring to spend time in his wagon perfecting his alchemical formulas and studying fire sorcery. Some think he has a unhealthy obsession for fire and burning, but he dismisses it as studying his craft, despite his fascination with its destructive power.

History

Callo was raised in the Aralian city of Kuyn Qayh'k by his uncle, a stern man of industry and member of the Woolers Guild. After a few suspicious fires which caused considerable damage to guild property, and loss of significant stocks of wool, Callo was cast out by his uncle, and had to find his own way in life. Surviving on the streets for a time, Callo would watch some of the more entertaining street performers, who did tricks to entertain the crowds and earn more coins than simple begging. He began to develop his own show juggling flaming torches, and other fire related spectacles. After one such show he was, approached privately by a member of the sorcerers guild and offered a chance to learn real magic. Callo jumped at the opportunity, and has never looked back.

The Circus

Callo and Behir met each other at a fair and struck up an easy friendship. Realizing they were of a similar mind regarding their talents for showmanship, and real magic, they decided to perform together. It was at their first double act, that they put on a show worthy of their true talents, and were rightfully accused of using sorcerous magic; They've been on the road ever since.

Alchemy

Callo is a competent alchemist, having perfected some recipes for most of his mundane stage effects; smoke, sparks, flames, and small explosions are his stock and trade. He also has a number of personal recipes for burn creams, salves, and related medicinal products.

Magic

Callo has studied sorcery, and is trained in the school of fire magics. He knows a handful of practical use spells, and some for pure show. He has developed a few unique spells which earned him the respect of his peers in the guild. While not yet a master, many feel he is capable of becoming one if he put aside his circus life and fully committed himself to the art.
