About
- Names
- Moonpetal Hinta
- Named after the flowers of the night blooming vine, Night Melon, the Moonpetal Hinta, is a migratory band of Sildaryn.
Location
- Sildara
- The Moonpetal Hinta traverses a circuit at the southern margin of the great forest of Sildara, and spend about two thirds of their annual cycle in the savannah. Like other hintas they travel bi-monthly between a dozen sites along a circuit to avoid overtaxing the local area at any one site.

Camps
- The twelve camps the Moonpetal Hinta visits each have specific features or unique resources making them points of interest to the hinta:
- Spring Sun Camp
- Located in savanna, this is the last camp of winter and the first camp of spring. It is considered the starting point for the migration cycle.
- Grey Rocks Camp
- A series of natural stone pillars dot the savanna around this camp. Watch posts are established on some of the larger rock formations.
- Stone Cleft Camp
- The site of this camp is haunted by the presence of a deep limestone crevasse that cuts through the savanna. Jageryn are often found using the crevice as a warren, and need to be rooted out on a recurring basis. To this end, rangers will often travel here ahead of the main hinta by as many as ten days to avoid endangering the main population.
- Moon Grove Camp
- The first of the forest camps, this site containing a sacred grove. This is where the Moonpetal Hinta hangs their masks on the tree of faces. This site is also visited by the Moon Bird Hinta and Black Hand Hinta at differing times of the year.
- Red Glade Camp
- The forest has a large open glade near the camp which contains several shallow ponds and clay deposits. The distinctive red clay is used by the hinta for ceramics and paints.
- Deep Forest Camp
- This site is the furthest camp from the savanna upon which the hinta spends most of its time. It is shared by the Egg Stone Hinta whom spend their winters at this camp.
- Knife Tree Camp
- This camp features a very large girthed dead tree, which has been carved by the Sildaryn with reliefs of various animals and decorative designs over the years.
- This camp is visited at the height of summer, and is the last forest camp of the cycle.
- Lightning Camp
- A lakeside camp where frequent lightning is observed over the water during the time of the hinta's visit. The savanna around the lake is marked by many streams and wetlands.
- Marsh Camp
- A dry island deep within a savanna marsh. At this wetland site the hinta gathers reeds and other marsh vegetation.
- Two Rivers Camp
- this savanna camp is located on a high ridge within sight of a pair of rivers which flow in opposite directions. The site is shared by the Blue Grove Hinta who visit during the summer months.
- South Camp
- The southernmost camp of the Moonpetal hintas annual circuit. The savanna in this area is dry, lacking significant waterholes, so the hinta has dug wells to supplement their supplies.
- Flintwash Camp
- A savanna camp located near a ford of the Flint River. This campsite is important source of flint stones for tools and weapons.
