Snared in the Göl's crushing embrace, Alësva felt her ribs cracking.
As she struggled to breathe, she closed her hands about the beast's throat, and squeezed.
Wheezing, they danced, each determined to win the contest of strength, until darkness took them both.
Victorious, Alësva drew breath first, and her knife.
