History
Pëpahawa was declared a local hero during an attack upon a hunting party from her village by an enraged Northern Golanei. She stumbled into the village torn and bleeding, supporting herself on the broken haft of a spear she had used to fell the beast. She recovered fully, despite a high fever and infection of the wounds she suffered from the animal's claws and bites. Her heroic stand against the beast saved several of the hunters from certain death, and earned her a spot amongst the axe-sworn of her liege.
Cursed
Despite her success in felling the beast, her glory came at a cost. Pëpehawa now suffers the curse of Therianthropy, and is capable of transforming into a Northern Golanei during times of stress. So far she has managed to keep this a secret, but some people in her village speak of seeing a beast prowling the tundra at night near the village and wonder if some mate of the fallen beast has come seeking revenge for the kill.
