- Ekias Drelas Shioniu has risen through the ranks from junior officer to commander the 5th Emdrejen mostly through politics and intrigue. He has never actually fought in a war, and Waejir has not been in a state of open warfare during his lifetime. The 5th Emdrejen is tasked with border patrol along the wall, and only encounters random scouting units from Quzonia rarely.
