- The false garke is not a garke at all, but another creature often mistaken for its more vicious namesake. Herbivores which behave in a much less aggressive manner.

- 18-27 kilograms (40-60 pounds), 1.2 metres (4 feet) in length.
- Appearance
- Their fur ranges in colour through browns and reddish shades with a lighter belly. Long necked and medium tailed, false garke move about on the bellies. They have vestigial legs barely noticeable without close inspection.
- Sexual Dimorphism
- Males of the species tend to be slightly larger than females.
- Variance
- False garke hides can be a variety of browns and reds in different patterns which aid in natural camouflage.

- The false garke is a herbivorous pack creature of the plains.

- Fruit, grasses, flowers and leaves of succulents.
Behaviour

- Colonies number between 20-30 adults forming complex tunnelled nests underground, and ranging out to collect foodstuff in groups of 3-6 foragers.

- Generally wary. Nest complexes will have multiple entrances and guards at watch over the colony during daylight hours.
