Despite his excessive weight, Balocna is an attractive man with long red hair, and striking blue eyes. He keeps a short well-groomed beard, and wears his hair in braids. He dresses in fine woolen tunic and robes, with a short fur cape. Balocna is also known to be left handed.

Outgoing and friendly, Balocna finds it easy to ingratiate himself with others, a useful talent given his profession. He is competent enough as a musician to live a life of excess, fine food, fine wine, and women are his for the asking. Beneath this lively presence lies a wounded heart. Balocna was spurned in his younger days by a nobleman's daughter he desired, and the experience lends a certain melancholy note to his ballads.

History

Balocna was born and raised in Saf, and travelled throughout his apprenticeship with his teacher. Once he became a journeyman he found that travel left him saddle sore and hungry too often, so he set up permanent residence in Kemp Hyläböm. Recently he found a young man with an excellent singing voice, and offered to train the lad himself.
