- The Earth Maw is an exceptionally wide and deep sinkhole which appeared in Quzonia during the spring of 784 YG. What began as a small hole in a pasture, eventually consumed most of a village, and is now a pit with an average diameter of 350 metres, and reaching a depth of more than 130 metres.
- At the time of its formation, it was believed to be the work of dangerous elemental creatures, but the soldiers who descended into the pit failed to locate anything responsible for creating the hole. All they found was a network of limestone caves, the original debris pile, and the corpses of dead livestock which fell into the pit.
- In the years that followed, it grows larger every spring, as more of the rim crumbles into the open pit with spring rains. Efforts to fully map the cave network have been made, but due to unstable geology, cave ins, and erosive forces, the maze of tunnels and chambers keeps shifting. Perhaps some insidious creatures do dwell in the rocks themselves, continuously reshaping the underground labyrinth.
