Overview
Bred exclusively by the Waejiran Breeder's Guild they are found throughout Waejir these bipedal beasts, are domesticated for various tasks. They are intelligent enough to understand most treahni speech, and have a proto-language of their own. Vocanei are carnivores.
General Appearance
Vocanei are canid in their features, are furred, have large eyes and pointed ears. Their hands have square palms, three fingers and a thumb, ending in short thick claws. Their feet are digitigrade, with three equal toes and a fourth dew-toe higher on the inside, all with short thick claws. Most adult vocanei average between 1-1.47 metres (40-58 inches) in height, and weigh 34-54 kilograms (75-118 pounds).

Primary Culture
Exclusive to the Empire of Waejir, the Vocanei lack a culture of their own, and adopt the Waejiran cultural norms of their masters.
Ethnic Sub-Groups
There is some variation between the different breeds, of which four are the most common: Black; Brown; Roan; and Tawny.
Black Vocanei
- Distinctive Features
- These vocanei are of a much heavier frame and larger size compared to others. Their fur tends to be quite short, and their coloration is dark ranging from black through a deep sable brown with tinges of red or grey.
- Adult black vocanei average between 1.09-1.54 metres (43-61 inches) in height, and weigh 40-64 kilograms (89-140 pounds).
Brown Vocanei
- Distinctive Features
- These vocanei have longer sleek fur, in a range of rich brown tones. The most popular shade being a dark chocolate colour.
- Adult brown vocanei average between 0.99-1.45 metres (39-57 inches) in height, and weigh 33-52 kilograms (73-115 pounds).
Roan Vocanei
- Distinctive Features
- Another short haired species these vocanei have reddish-brown fur, some tend towards the shades of orange. The roan vocanei have taller, leaner builds.
- Adult roan vocanei average between 1.14-1.60 metres (45-63 inches) in height, and weigh 35-54 kilograms (77-120 pounds).
Tawny Vocanei
- Distinctive Features
- These vocanei are usually a sandy blonde colour with thicker ruffed fur at the neck and shoudlers. The tawny tend to have slighter frames.
- Adult tawny vocanei average between 0.99-1.45 metres (39-57 inches) in height, and weigh 33-52 kilograms (73-115 pounds).
