About

The Etausi rook of singing Water has taken advantage of a number of Lodge Lizard homes on a small lake just down stream from their grotto home. A couple dozen such rafts have been laden with additional soil and lake sediments to become fertile garden plots planted primarily with with melon and squash vines, as well as berry bushes. Most of the plots are still occupied by lizards which provide a source of meat for the rook, as well as protection for the crops from small animals, birds and insect pests.

Location

Singing Water Rook, Darlom Mountains
The lake itself is located at the base of a mineral encrusted step falls which is the outflow of the rook's grotto. The rafts forming the gardens drift freely upon the lake, and are only reachable by swimming, which is not a problem for the Etausi who tend to them.

History

the practice of working floating gardens began somewhat by accident for the local Etausi rook. their current Matriarch, Tasala, Had taken refuge upon one of the lodges when preparing gourds for water bottles. The seeds she had extracted had taken root in the substance of the lodge roof, and the following season vines were growing strong and healthy. This led her to intentionally propagate other plants to the remaining lodges, while also adding more good soil to make for better planting beds.
