Jelna is a large pudgy man with a soft face that bears a perpetual smile. He has brown hair and grey eyes. Jelna keeps his face clean shaven, and appears much younger than he is. Normally dressing in simple clothes, under a piebald tunic in the baron's colours teal and silver.

Personality

Jelna likes to joke. He sees a certain absurdity in life, and uses humour to disarm the tension and drudgery of living in those he meets. Sometimes his humour hits with real personal barbs, but his delivery is such that many laugh along despite his accurate jabs. He has always used his humour as a way to defuse harsh emotions, and certainly he has caused angry men to consider how ridiculous their stubbornness was looking from outside from time to time. Jelna thinks this is one of the reasons the Wyna keeps him in his employ.

Jelna serves as a comedic entertainer in the court of his Wyna. He is a talented singer, and musician, but includes a bawdy physical comedy element in his act. While often the butt of his own jokes, sometimes others are the target of ridicule, or harmless pranks all done for the entertainment of the Wyna and his guests at court. Jelna has worked for the Wyna in this capacity for many years, and believes he is accepting of the occasional jab, but would never go too far, and never anything to truly cause his lord a loss of reputation.

The Wyna is actually a fairly nice guy. I can see when he thinks I'm taking things too far, and quickly change up my approach to humour. We have an understanding. Now if I were to take it too far, I'd expect to be punished, as is the right of the Wyna to do so. Probably time in the stocks.
