History
Spimezas Ibeitar was an Ekjenar in the 4th Waejiran Emdrejen. He was responsible for thwarting a major incursion by the Quzonian army in 242 WR. Forces under his command managed to travel an incredible distance through harsh desert scrub land to intercept a large force of Quzonian cavalry who were rampaging unimpeded towards relatively undefended towns along the Untaltar.
Despite the exhaustive march to what was likely to be a futile effort, his legion managed to arrive at a ford on the river only hours before the Quzonian forces. He had his men stand in the river, forming a weak line of defence, with nothing but the spears and shields; no earthworks, or barricades could be erected in time.
Seeing such a weak force, the Quzonian cavalry charged across the ford to crush the infantry; only to discover too late that the line of defence was arrayed on a sand bar in the river and not the ford at all. Foundering in the deep water the Quzonians and their horses were slaughtered. It is said that the clay on the banks of the river is still red to this day.
Upon his triumphant return to the capitol to receive accolades, Ekjenar Ibeitar, tore off his cloak, tossing his officers helm, and sword at the foot of the senate steps. He declared "If the politicians of the senate thirsted so strongly for the blood of Quzonians, they should take their cups to the river and drink their fill!" He turned on his heel at walked out of the city.
It is believed that the horrors of war sent him into early retirement. What is recorded, is that he settled in a small village deep in the South; as far from the Untaltar, and Muzacivt - Bloodford as one could reasonably get in Waejir.
