Appearance
Ral Denmar is an old man by any measure. He is bald and beardless, with exceptionally bushy white brows above milky white eyes. His hands are gnarled and crooked, sporting an array of rings of various precious metals and stones. His wrinkled form is supported by a stout staff of carved eye wood, and he walks with a notable hitch in his left hip. He typically dresses in fine woolen robes of dark blue and purple, paired with a soft grey cape. About his neck he wears a set of gold chains attached to a large amulet of turquoise and gold.

Personality

Ral's mind once sharp and alert has been losing a battle with dementia. He sometimes forgets when or where he is, and seems to be reliving moments from decades in the past. Despite these challenges he still serves as head of his chantry, and when lucid is quite witty and charming.

History
Ral Denmar was a master sorcerer and part of the Company of the Golden Tra before Fahdel Ta'rel decided to emigrate from Aralia. He took a few apprentices, and a fellow master sorcerer with him to the new colony. Once settled he and his fellow sorcerers established a chantry, aptly named Newhaven. Ral has served as the chantry's Headmaster and Master of Air for 27 years. He is now an aged man and sees each sunset as though it could be his last. Ral has worked diligently to keep positive relations between his order and the fledgling government of Fahdel's Purchase. While not practising completely in the open, the chantry and the coven are considered wise scholars and advisers to the head of state.
Sorcery
Ral Denmar is a master sorcerer with a primary affinity for the air element and a secondary atunement to spirit. He is known to have perfected a spell allowing him to overcome his physical loss of sight, and function normally without using his eyes to see. A feat envied by many aging sorcerers who struggle with the ravages of time upon their mortal forms.
