During an excursion about a year ago, he and a fellow hunter discovered a sleeping man in a woodcutter's hut, deep in the woods. All efforts to wake this person failed, and later the pair discovered a demon that was somehow using that man to gain a foothold in the physical realm. While he doesn't fully comprehend all that happened, or how they banished the demon, Shain is now more concerned about the spiritual well-being of his community.
