History: During the reign of Ig-Itoq Resip's father Ig-Itoq Vaal-Ara, the nation of Aralia was making in-roads with the tribal peoples whom called the Plains of Tekara their home. As a nation bordering the same prairie region, many felt that Tabras had as much of a claim over the region as might Aralia to the south, and felt the Tabras should expand their own borders. Vaal-Ara disagreed with annexing the tribal lands, and his son continued in the same stance.

The Flower Rebellion: In 697 YG a group of dissatisfied noblemen in Tabras decided to seize power with plans to divide the nation into three smaller states. The first whispers of the conspiracy began in the middle of winter and the whole thing was ended by the second month of spring. The conspirators believed that Ig-Itoq Resip was mad like his ancestor Ig-Itoq Jalen Vylan - the Mad King. They felt that the kingdom was being ruined by the false belief that fae-folk had some special treaty with the royal family.; A small number of the conspirators were loyal to Ig-Itoq Resip Vylan, but played along to ensure the guilty barons would fully commit to their treasonous plans. The rebellion had but a single battle fought in a shallow valley filled with the flowers of spring, hence the name. The lands of the guilty noblemen were seized and granted to those who proved their loyalty to the crown.; Tabras began sending a military presence into the Plains of Tekara to counter Aralian expansion for the past 105 years; a practice began by Ig-Itoq Resip, following The Flower Rebellion.

Madness: Since the reign of Ig-Itoq Jalen Vylan the monarchs of Tabras have claimed some heritage with the Fae. Resip showed many of the same mannerisms of his great-great-great-grandfather, as recorded in the histories of the royal family. Resip was known to speak to people no one else could see, claimed to have knowledge of distant events before news could travel, showed confusion over names and identities of court members, and was prone to outbursts of laughter at inappropriate times without prompting.
