About

The belief in demonic spiritual entities is pervasive throughout nearly all cultures of Entorais. There is a consensus that remnant demons that were not destroyed or driven off during the God Wars still exist throughout the world, and arise from time to time to cause mayhem and torment Treahni kind. Demons are said to be the cause of many afflictions and ailments that defy more plausible causes, these include sleeping sickness, plagues, physical deformities in newborns, or psychological disorders such as multiple personalities, psychosis, or manic-depressive disorders. Demons can possess the body of a mortal, and will perform all sorts of lewd and destructive acts while the victim is helpless to prevent the demons actions.

Appearance

Demons lack physical bodies most of the time, but it is believed that they can manifest a physical form if they so desire. The descriptions of such rare encounters include common elements; grey or pale skin, tails, wings, and large dark eyes, on a nearly featureless head.

Abilities

Combat
Demons have been reported to use spears or staves when physically present, and are capable of throwing explosive balls of fire from these weapons. They are also reportedly able to fly or glide using their wings. they can become invisible or intangible at will, change their appearance, and even teleport, making them rather stealthy and dangerous adversaries in physical fight.
Psionics
Demons are very capable in manipulating the minds and emotions of others. They have been reported to have talents in the psychic paths of Bonding, Cloaking, Lacuna, Nulling, Psyche, Sensing, and Telekinesis.
Afflictions
Just what afflictions a demon may cause a person to suffer from varies with type. Common effects are plagues, breathing ailments, comas, psychotic episodes, manifested phobias, obsessive and addictive behaviours, and possession.

Weakness

Religious exorcisms and cleansing rituals are reportedly one of the few ways to counter a demonic influence over a person. In Krolar it is believed that cats can see demons that are not manifested in the material realm, and act as wards or guardians over sleeping Treahni protecting them from some demonic torments and plagues.
