- Not a true apple. this rare plant grows to about one meter in height. It produces large yellow trumpet shaped flowers, and bears small round spiky fruit.The flesh of this fruit is a galactagogue and sialagogue. The leaves of the plant, which grow in five part compound structures are used to make an astringent wash.
