Description: In the winter of 348 YG a group of dissatisfied noblemen in Tabras decided to seize power with plans to divide the nation into three smaller states. The first whispers of the conspiracy began in the middle of winter and the whole thing was ended by the second month of spring in 349 YG. The Flower Rebellion had but a single battle fought in a shallow valley filled with the flowers of spring, hence the name.

Conspiracy: The rebel conspirators believed that Ig-Itoq Resip was mad like his ancestor Jalen Vylan, the Mad King. They felt that the nation was being ruined by the false belief that fey-folk had some special treaty with the royal family. Since the reign of Ig-Itoq Jalen the monarchs of Tabras have claimed some heritage with the Fae. Resip showed many of the same mannerisms of his great-great-great-grandfather, as recorded in the histories of the royal family.

Grievance: The nation of Tabras was seen as less prosperous than their southern neighbour Aralia, and many blamed the royal line of being weak and ineffective on the world stage. During the reign of Ig-Itoq Resip's father Ig-Itoq Vaal-Ara, the nation of Aralia was making in-roads with the tribal peoples whom called the Plains of Tekara their home. As a nation bordering the same prairie region many felt that Tabras had as much of a claim over the region as Aralia to the south, and felt the nation should expand their own borders. Ig-Itoq Vaal-Ara disagreed with annexing the tribal lands, and his son continued in the same stance.

Outcome: A small number of the conspirators were loyal to Ig-Itoq Resip, but played along to ensure the guilty barons would fully commit to their treasonous plans. The lands of the guilty noblemen were seized and granted to those who proved their loyalty to the crown. Following the Flower Rebellion, Tabras began sending a military presence into the Plains of Tekara to counter Aralian expansion, starting the cold war which has simmered for the past fifty-three years.

Remembrance: A set of great tapestries depicting the events of each ruling Tabrani monarch's reign hangs in the Hall of Crowns at the royal palace. The flower rebellion, brief as it was, is depicted on Ig-Itoq Resip's Tapestry.
