- The widow Drekäva is a wealthy guildswoman who has earned herself a reputation as a stern but fair minded negotiator. She has served on the town council for twelve and a half years, as the town's treasurer. Following the death of her late husband, she never remarried, but has three grown children who have families of their own. Her eldest son, Penëlana, works for her as a moneylender, and is set to inherit the family business.
