These are often used as parables, instructive to children, or simply tales repeated for entertainment. Quasi-fictional accounts will be embellished and retold over time until they only retain a small kernel of any truthful historical events. The best stories will travel and have many versions told across a wider area, eventually forming part of the mythos of the culture.
