Description
This low ground herbaceous plant produces single dark berries 1-2 cm in diameter. It grows only in shady open woodlands, and does not produce large patches of plants. The berries have sedative properties, and the juice of the leaves can be distilled to make an antiseptic wash, or mashed as a poultice.
