The sand fishers drove the long bamboo poles deep into the soft sand.
Balanced, with feet braced and hanging one handed several feet above the desert floor, they tapped spears on perches, until the sand beneath them stirred.
They struck swiftly, skewering the skraks drawn forth by the rhythmic thrumming.
